  1. Total No. of beneficiaries in Punjab is 1.42 Crore
  2. Eldest Woman of family will be the family head in Ration Card.
  3. Wheat will be given to ration card holders at the price of  Rs. 2/- per KG.  Sometimes pulses (Dal) is also provided to families.
  4. 6 months wheat will be given at once (5 kg per month/per individual family member) total 30 KG wheat will be given to/per one family member.
  5. The distribution will be done by deepu holder holder of your village.
  6. The beneficiary gets to keep the wheat bags in which he gets the grains.
  7. The beneficiaries are de-duplicated on the basis Aaadhar.
  8. The beneficiary can go to the consumer court, if he does not get wheat as per his entitlement.
  9. Wheat will be delivered in 30 kg standard packing.
  10. The department officials, Beneficiary, Transporter, Gram Panchayat, Nigrani Committee - all will work in coordination for disbursement of wheat.
  11. No upper cap. Every member gets five kg wheat per month.

Purpose {Computerization of Public Distribution System (PDS)}: -


The project aims to improve operational efficiency, coordination, accessibility, speed of management and the establishment of Information Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure. It aims to provide:

    E-Dominance
    Efficiency
    To illustrate this
    Work planning
    Achieving time-bound goals

Definition: - PDS computerization has four (4) stages.


Category I: - Digital inclusion of beneficiaries and other information.

    Establishment of a database for all warehouses at the State Center & PDS (Cereals and Roofing Vendors).
    Creating a database of addresses for PDS Agencies (All DFSC, AFSO & Food Supply Inspectors and PUNSUP Inspectors).
    Creating a database of all Fair Price Shops / Depots in Government.
    Liaise all stakeholders with DFSCs, AFSOs and inspectors where information is interactive

Distt -> Block -> Village -> FPS -> Depot.

Category II: -

Installation of Family wise cards & category ration cards (All APL, BPL, Antodya)

    Creation of Benefit Data and similar handling where in the State PDS Data Portal.
    Removal / modification / removal of ration cards will be performed using software.

Phase III:

Computer use for asset management.


    The online distribution of food grains will be based on the number of allotment cards taken from the software in real time where the grain cuts will be collected in the previous month.
    Stock management and conservation activities will be implemented using software.
    Receipt and issuance of food items will be posted online at the State-owned warehouse where the stock position of the warehouse w.r.t. grain cereals will be available online.
    SMS notifications will be sent to beneficiaries regarding shipments and receipts to FPS.

Category IV:

Transparency Portal


    Beneficiaries app to register their complaints on the State PDS website and view its status.
    Participant details (Fair Price Stores, Storage / Depot, F & CS offices) will be available for public access.
    A smart monthly FPS allocation, monthly promotion and monthly grain distribution under TPDS schemes will be made available to the public
